Welcome, SPURS students and teachers.

This year we have ten Texas high schools participating in the program, each school partnered with a UT-Austin Rhetoric and Writing class. Each partnership has its own discussion forum, which you can access by selecting the name of your high school either on the left or at the top and bottom of the page.

Teachers, please see the Documents section on the right to access materials from the 2009 Summer workshop. Students, please click on the link on the right, below Surveys, to complete a quick survey about your expectations for the SPURS program.

I look forward to working with you all this year, providing curricular and administrative support as the high school classes work on two college-level writing assignments: first the rhetorical analysis essay and then, in the spring, the synthesis essay. I am especially thrilled to direct the high school classes' UT campus visits, during which we can expect dynamic conversations in the UT Rhetoric and Writing classes.

Let's make this year our best yet!
